UPDATED: (8/20) Fall Semester Class Schedule
Updated: Aug 20, 2020
UPDATE: Since this post was published, Professor Shields has elected to move your Physics lectures to "Online Synchronous" on Tuesdays & Thursdays, 5-6:15pm. You will receive a message from him via Collab soon if you haven't already.
First of all, you all have been TROOPERS in dealing with all of the changes that COVID-19 has brought. We know this year is not what you expected (or what we wanted for you), but we appreciate how all of you have been "rolling with the punches" as the University continues to make decisions about the Fall semester.
As of right now, this is what your schedule looks like (your Biology & Physics labs are the only variables):
The following classes will be in person:
- US Healthcare class (Wednesdays, 2:15-4:15pm, Zehmer Hall Auditorium)
- Biology Discussion (Thursdays, 11am-12 noon, Zehmer Hall Auditorium)
As you know, this could all change, but that's where things stand at the moment.
Both classroom locations allow for social distancing from one another, and hand sanitizer will be available (at least in Zehmer Hall, but you are strongly encouraged to carry some with you at all times). No other programs/classes will be meeting in Zehmer Hall except for PBPM students and some occasional staff members (who are also abiding by strict safety measures). In addition, there is a plan for facility staff members to clean rooms on a regular basis as the University wants to uphold the highest cleanliness and safety standards as possible. When in class, you should plan to wear a mask for the duration of the class with minimal food/drink consumption unless you have a medical need.
If you plan to come to Grounds for any reason (class, library, etc), please check in with your Hoos Health Check. If you are not feeling well in the slightest, stay home, contact Student Health (434-924-5362), and let your professor know if you will be missing class.
As always, communication is key and Susan and I want to support you however we can, so don't hesitate to reach out to one/both of us.
Any other questions? Please let us know either in the comments or via email (postbac@virginia.edu). We want you to feel comfortable and informed regarding your educational experience at UVA.
